Some definitions to help keep you from getting confused. You will be registering for an account during class the first few days of school. A SmartMusic account therefore is NOT the same as a SmartMusic Subscription.
Registering with SmartMusic costs no money and enables you to receive assignments and practice with a "pinned" device using the SmartMusic Program or iPad app. A "pinned device" is a computer or iPad that we have "purchased a subscription" for use by anyone who has registered for an account through S.Wells. We pin a "practice room subscription" to devices that the school or music program pays for on your behalf. We currently have 4 such subscriptions. These will be signed up for below as demand for their use grows.
We hope to encourage many of our students to purchase their own SmartMusic subscriptions for use on any iPad or Computer with the SmartMusic program installed.
On an encouraging note... MakeMusic, the company that owns SmartMusic and Finale notation software, has recently acquired another company that will allow them to create an online version of SmartMusic. What does that mean for us? You will soon be able to use smartmusic with your Chromebooks!!! In 2018, the upgrades have been adopted. Much of the info below is probably outdated. But, I have not studied the system enough yet, to edit the instructions below. Consider this page "under construction" until further notice. See their website for information. We have purchased up to 50 spots for student use. Email Mr. Haigh if you are interested in one.
